I’m puttering around the Internets at work, looking for a good DJ shirt to wear when hanging out with Mike and all my other DJ friends. I mean, I’ve DJ’ed quite a bit lately, so I’ve been trying to find something that’s different than “IMMA DJ – I DOAN DO REQUESTS!” that all the other dudes wear.

Someone just suggested Vinyl Scratch. If you don’t know who that is, let me show you.

Vinyl Scratch is a My Little Pony DJ

So I was surfing around, and Mike was surfing around, and Mike sends me this Q message (it’s a valid thing to do – he sits clear across the room from me) –

Mike: Hey found ur shirt
Mike: http://somepony.spreadshirt.com/vinyl-scratch-dj-pon-3-A7816489
Me: OMGWTF???
Me: Do I look like a furry to you?
Mike: u know the mlp people, right?
Mike: that makes u a furry brony
Me: I FUCKING HAET YOU … wait.
Me: How do you know about bronies?
Me: ARE YOU A BRONY?!?!?
Mike: o fuck i’ve been found out
<Mike has left Q Messenger>

LOL

Me: Sure. Are you guys going to be wearing your wizard hats?
Ryan (aka Papa Smurf): LOL
Me: SLYTHERIN REPRESENT!
Ryan: I would have guessed that you – DJ EMCEEKHAN – were in Hufflepuff.
Me: Dude … dude … fuck you! LOL

Mitt Romney won the New Hampshire primary. Which wasn’t unexpected, just a first for any incumbant in the GOP primary race (to win Iowa and New Hampshire back-to-back).

Ron Paul came in second*. Which means he’s the candidate for the others to beat from here on out. However, the libertarians who normally vote for the libertarian candidates were able to vote in New Hampshire since independent voters are allowed. That means in states where it’s purely GOP, will Ron Paul do well? My guess is not as well as he did in New Hampshire or other states that have a more liberal GOP viewpoint. Florida will make or break Ron Paul (which is where Romney is again showing pretty good numbers vs Ron Paul).

Huntsman pulled third, which basically means he dashed Newt Gingrich’s chances at contesting Ron Paul’s lead for second. Rick Santorum did poorly, but we knew he might. Which goes to prove my previous analysis – Santorum does not have enough money, momentum or popularity to win the primary.

Again, it’s all Romney’s to lose. However, I see him as a much better campaigner with a stronger message being delivered than the other candidates. He’s the veteran here. Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich have a scattered approach, and not a lot of focus on any one thing. Huntsman is too moderate. Santorum is done unless he comes in second in South Carolina.

On that same note, I just got involved in a baking swap with people from the Seraph Inn forums. I’m kinda nervous and excited all at once – it’s basically free baked goods for a few months (save the one I have to bake something and mail it to the others).

Also, if you have a SoundCloud account, find M C Khan and add me. Then send me a note saying, “Hey, this is me,” so I can add you to my friends. That way, I can share with you the many house remixes I’ve made for DJing. You might like them.

*EDIT: You might also want to NOT play the Imperial March when introducing your candidate. Relating Ron Paul to the Emperor in Star Wars is not the best idea ever. It actually makes you look like you don’t know WTF you are doing. This is not a game, dumbasses.

Hey, Lord Omlette (AMIT)

Instead of Bacardi, how about sip, sippin on some Orphan Tears?

EDIT: Sorry about that – WordPress has a God-awful GUI that I take for granted. I expect that when it says it will put the http:// in front of an address, that it will put the damn http:// on the damn address for the link. But no, and you guys nailed me for a broken link.

So instead, I gotta flip it to the HTML tab and do it myself. Fucking shit.

Man, okay. Two long nights in a row is a bad idea.

I DJ’ed at the Maxx on Saturday night. Which wasn’t bad, since that place rocks. Especially the main floor. I’ve DJ’ed the Arena section, and it wasn’t bad, but the main dance floor is CRAZY packed. Especially when you play everything that everyone wants to hear, apparently.

I’m seriouly beginning to detest the Inglesais/Ludacrist song Tonight (Chuckie Remix). I go to get some water, the girls sitting at the table near the booth are like, “Can you play Tonight?” I’m running to the bathroom, the girls at the bar who recognize me are, “Can you play that Tonight song?” So I think we ended up playing it … twice? Two different remixes, but Jesus. I know it’s a great dance song. I know everyone loves the dirty version – loves singing to their date, “Tonight I’m fucking you!” But it’s extremely repetitive. Especially when people ask for it constantly. Oz was like “Stop taking requests, man. LOL.”

But I did have a great stretch right in the middle where people just went insane. Here’s a rough list.

Basement Jaxx: Where’s Your Head At (Coolio remix)
Justin Timberlake: Sexy Back (Drastik REMIX)
Claude VonStroke: Who’s Afraid of DetroitPut your Hands Up For Detroit (maxx remix)
Far East Movement: Like a G6 (Disco Fries Remix)
Rihanna: Only Girl in the World (Extended Club Mix)
Katy Perry w/Snoop Dogg: California Girls (Wills Bootleg Remix)
Usher: DJ Got Us Fallin In Love Again (Almighty Remix)
Britney Spears: Hold It Against Me (Adrain Lux & Nause Club Mix)
Bruno Mars: Grenade (Dancecom Project Club Mix)
Taio Cruz Ft. Kylie: Higher (Wideboys Radio Edit)
Zoe Badwi: Free Fallin (Club Remix)
Enrique Inglesais/Ludacrist: Tonight (Chuckie Remix)
Cascada: Evacuate the Dancefloor (Club Remix)
Basshunter: Bass Creator

All in all, not bad. I even snuck in BASSHUNTER there (who were here last week, I think). I think Basshunter is too complex for people from Omaha, though. LOL.
