To the list of ex-senior military officers who think Iraq is a mess. That now makes FOUR (Senator Webb, Batiste, Clark and Sanchez) who have publically criticized the Administration and the politics that have totally isolated and destroyed a good effort in the Middle East.
{Caveat} I would have made that five generals, counting Anthony Zinni. He was quite critical of the war in 2004, although he’s mostly dropped off the radar to collaborate with Tom Clancy on various fiction military novels and teach. He also stepped forward in 2006 to support Senator McCain’s “We Just Need a Few More Troops” policy and then in 2007 to support McCain’s run for President. To me, he’s really reversed his entire position.
