I think the lesson to take away from this is that when you have a largely obscure group like Anonymous, you don’t know who you can and can’t trust.
That used to be Anon’s greatest strength – the inability to tie anything to one single person or group of people. However, the flaw is also very obvious now – you can’t tell who is a cop and who isn’t. Chances are, there are many cops now infiltrated into the various Anon groups across the globe. These cops don’t even have to turn anyone in – they can merely send out a warning to targets days in advance, including details on the operation.
It was just a matter of time anyway. Most criminal activity is learning to read and play the percentages. You have to know when to leave the game, because you are going to get caught eventually.
