Japan is experiencing geological difficulties.
A friend of mine (and a reader of my blog) said that his first reaction after the massive quake was not one about his safety, but about his favorite anime/manga producers. So he took a walk (a rather long and crowded one, since none of the trains are running) over to check out the district where Funimation and Shonen Jump are.
Apparently, both buildings look somewhat okay, but the news is that the inside of both buildings is “in shambles” or something similar. Which is a little alarming, because what does this mean for Naruto and Bleach? Apparently, Sony and Squaresoft’s buildings are also devestated. Which sets back an already super slow company from producing the next Final Fantasy Kingdom Hearts.
Anyway, my prayers and best hopes go with Japan, since they are one of most amiable and reliable allies. They are one of our best economic partners, and their people are awesome. May they rise and return to normal life again soon.
EDIT: Holy crap. They just had a second earthquake up north. This one was 6.6.
