This is from a new round of WikiLeaks fans crying in their milk:
I read this morning that every time WikiLeaks kicks up their new site, a few hours later, it comes under Denial of Service attacks. A provider had to drop WikiLeaks today because their network was almost dead from the amount of DoS messages generated by cyber-attacks on the WikiLeak website.
WTF is going on? I thought this was a hacker’s dream – to be spilling government secret documents on the Internet. Now, suddenly, the hackers are working against WikiLeaks? I heard that it came from a number of countries, all who could benefit by having a little dirty laundry aired out.
I’m so disappointed. SO much so that I feel this entire endeavor was for naught. I wanted people to get excited by this, to go with us, to help us start the revolution. Instead, revolutionaries are attacking other revolutionaries. We can’t even get the support of the hackers, which means they are also loyal to the system since they support attacking the anti-government groups.
I hate the Internet. It’s so disengenious. It kills good intentions at every turn. It ruins things like WikiLeaks.
Hahaha. Wait wait what?
You thought the Internet was that easily defined and simple to manipulate? That hackers are searching for transparency in government?
The more I read the reactions of people who support WikiLeaks, the more I realize they are a bunch of nOObs who have no idea how the Internet (or real life, for that matter) actualy operates. Hackers are like the rest of us – they don’t care. They are attacking WikiLeaks because it’s a giant Internet target with a lot of media attention. Plus, it’s a competitor now, and a lot of hackers hate Julian Assange. Julian Assange was even one of them for awhile!
I honestly do not understand what people were expecting. Do people not know who this guy is or why he’s doing this? Other than reading his rather silly manifesto?
