So everyone’s got their panties in a wad about them building a mosque near Ground Zero.
First of all, aren’t we a democracy? What applies to one group applies to another? They should be allowed to on that standard. All the comments about how insulting it seems should be thankful they have these freedoms, since if it were reversed, we could NEVER build a church in Afghanistan near a place where Muslims were slaughtered. People don’t understand our freedom – they think it’s a one-way street.
Second, Sarah Palin needs to STFU. “Many Americans, myself included, feel it would be an intolerable and tragic mistake to allow such a project … to go forward on such hallowed ground,” is something she blogged on Facebook. Hello? It’s not hallowed ground. There’s nothing SACRED about Ground Zero. She acts like every little thing is attached to Jesus.
Wait, wait. If they want it to be hallowed ground, that’s WHY the mosque should go up. Place of worship = hallowed ground, right?
The biggest tragedy is that some people still blame the entirety of a vast religion for the actions of a few of it’s extremists.
…Well, even worse is that some people still think Sarah Palin is worth listening to.
