Honestly, Pelosi pulled the ultimate hypocracy de triumph today. Even if Bush is a failure, your stint as the Democrats’ voice in the Senate has been really awful. Pelosi took over, the Democrats bent over for the Republicans. Senator Hagel – on the other hand – makes a better Democrat than most Democrats do. This guy continues to impress people and get stuff done. Why can’t more Democrats be like him?
Although Iraq still has a long way to go to being fully functional, there’s a new divide in the people. When should the US leave? I noted that the guy they quote in this article is well-known for being shady and corrupt, so of course he doesn’t want the US to leave (it’s his head if we do). Of course, in the same vein, the ones who are anxious for us to leave in that article are mostly the politically charged youth. It is clear, however, that the common attitude is that the US really has to look at GTFO in a few years.
Al-Q market is up in Afghanistan, and down in Iraq. Funny how when the US says, “We’re going to focus on this front,” the entire militant focus shifts to the same front? Notice that most of the countries where the jihadist militants are coming from are US allies. Nice.
Today’s IDAM:
Actually have a positive experience with the US in nuke talks.
Hezbollah has the best freaking PR group in the Middle East. I mean, they pull this bullshit and it works. Kinda depressing, but you have to expect it.
