So GOP leader Boehner claims that the Democrats are as bad as the Republicans at running Congress. Wow, how original and wise [/sarcasm]. While I will agree with that assessment initially, let me just say this:
I won’t be totally convinced the Democrats are totally incompetent until the GOP stops opposing everything they put forth just for the sake of party lines. And the President stops vetoing everything just because of – again – party lines. Until then, I’m going to say that the Democrats are slightly better than the GOP in Congress at this time, because when the GOP was in power, they at least worked to pass bills that were important to citizens of the country regardless of party lines.

Sure they did.
For one, they stopped the national ID thing, and they actually passed about … 4 laws that the Republicans had in the last quarter of the year. New tariff law, new security law concerning ports, new suspension of rights for terrorist detainies, and the new highway funding bill.
How many have the Democrats passed? Extension of farm aid? Nope, Republicans wouldn’t pass that one, because a Democrat introduced it. It had to be re-introduced by a Republican, and then it suddenly failed because it was revealed that she proposed a revision of the Democrats’ bill.
Extension of several state aid programs in light of the natural disasters that hit them in the last two years? Republicans voted against those strictly out of party politics. Then the same fucking bill is passed – word for word – when introduced by a Republican.
Don’t give me that crap that the Retardican party isn’t just being idiotic in their pure party line crap.
